Aspö Writing Lab is thrilled to host our first MIDNIGHTSUN WRITING LAB in Talvik, Norway, in the far north by the Barents sea, including a planned trip to Nordkap.

We are exited once again to collaborate with award winning professor, screenwriting coach and Wift member Marilyn Horowitz, New York, director Zanyar Adami and many more of the best creative minds in the industry. Join us in Talvik and Nordkap, June 27th - July1st 2018.

Our goal: Stronger screenplays enriched by diversity.

Have a key-scene from your screenplay performed by professional actors and filmed - an opportunity to improve not only your scene, but your entire screenplay. An unique opportunity to explore the craft of screenplays with some of the best minds in the industry.

Skype sessions with producers who will discuss what producers want and don't want in a screenplay,

Explore what happens to a screenplay when stereotypes are changed, and the importance of diversity. 

We watch and analyze film, and work in progress  by Aspö Writing Lab delegates.

Since our start in 2016, Aspö Writing Lab has fast developed a network in the film industry, amongst writers, directors, actors, photographers and filmmakers in Sweden, New York, Los Angeles, London, Finland, Norway and Berlin. Welcome to our family!

  • FilmJam: Sharing our work / work in progress

Saturday June 30th (10am-8pm) 

  • Writing Class III – Character & Dialogue
  • Professor Marilyn Horowitz, New York: What a producer wants (and don’t want!) in a screenplay (SKYPE)
  • Meet Alta & Norway film-industry (I)

Sunday July 1st (10am-4pm) 

  • Writing Class IV - How to sell your screenplay

Your application should include:

  • A few words about yourself and why you'd like to join Aspö WritingLab MIDNIGHTSUN in Talvik / Nordkap
  • If you have a project / an idea: A treatment, or work in progress / a key scene from your screenplay,  or a few words about an idea you might have.
  • Food restrictions and / or other important information you think we should know.

  • Cost: 2500 SEK. With accommodation included 3500 (shared room); 5500 SEK (own room) + VAT.
